Haiti quake

13 01 2010

JANUARY 12, 2010 was the bleakest day for thousands of Haitians when a powerful earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale hit the impoverished island nation. Its capital Port-Au-Prince was severely ravaged, thousands of people perished or were unaccounted for and hundreds of thousands more were injured and made homeless… 😦

The quake was yet another stark reminder for us to always remember the wrath of the Almighty which can be devastatingly tragic. We can rally to the aid of the destitute Haitians in cash and in kind. The fact remains that all of us need to repent time and time again… 😦

P.S. Back home, flash floods are getting more and more frequent this rainy season. Not to mention road accidents on slippery roads are on the rise. Do we even stop for a second or a minute to pause and to say simple prayers to seek forgiveness from our Creator (from whom we come and to whom we shall return)? Enough said…
