Materialism wins over spiritualism… :(

20 01 2011

TALK OR WRITE about things spiritual in content or religious in context, no one bothers to listen or respond to such sermons or lectures no more nowadays. But worldly materialistic matters and issues or things to do with food, music, movies, sex, etc. anytime, baby! In no time at all, people will immediately take notice and quickly react to relate to those stuff… sad but true.😦

Let’s take for example this American Muslim convert, Laura, who speaks about Islam:

Okay, Laura, who used to be Jewish may have drawn more than 400 thousand viewers to her YouTube… and she has come up with a series of ‘plain-spoken’ explanation about her chosen religion on YouTube since 2008.πŸ˜‰ Alhamdullillah (All praises and thanks be to Allah) and may she, her husband and twin kids be rewarded and blessed by Allah the Almighty for her family’s sincerity in accepting the Islamic religion as the Righteous Path and her relentless efforts to spread the words of peace, love and kindness as emboldened by Islam.πŸ™‚

But compare her to a much more learned and bearded UK-based Indian Muslim, good brother Shaykh Abu Yusuf Riyadh Ul Haq, who could only command a viewership of a mere 275 viewers on YouTube albeit his much more depth in his Islamic knowledge and lengthy in his more detailed lectures.

Alright, perhaps, he should stick to KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid? or Keep It Short, Sweet?!) principle…πŸ˜›

However simple and easy peasy Islam should be made to be, Muslims still have to master the rather comprehensive knowledge of the religion as taught in the Holy Book, the Al-Qur’an, and the Sunnah or Traditions of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalam (peace and blessings be upon him).

Lighten up, people, and let’s chill to Yusuf Islam a.k.a Cat Stevens’ song on YouTube (where else? Hang on his website: http://www.yusufislam.com is accessible, actually as well as his Facebook, too.)…πŸ™‚
